Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and the international gateway to the rest of the country. It's waterside location has fostered the locals' love affair with the sea, earning this place the nickname "City of Sails".

If you want to venture just out of Auckland, you can take a harbour ferry ride to Waiheke Island and spend the day visiting wineries or head north of the city by road to Matakana, to check out some of Auckland's neighbouring regions

Auckland International Airport is 35 minutes away by taxi or shuttle.
